Authentic People Blog Party!

 

Hello, hello, hello (Count Olaf/Jim Carrey voice) ;) I'm Maria--a daughter of the King. People who don't know me say I'm shy. I'm just normally quiet around them. I have 5 siblings. I love music, movies, books and life. Writing has never come naturally to me--I've always had to work hard at writing papers, short stories, etc. That is partly why I blog. My older sister, Hannah, has had a blog for a while and I thought it would be fun to have one too. It was also sort of a school assignment from my Mom. (I have been homeschooled ever since I started school) So. That is why I blog. :)

I have been following Abigail's blog for a while now and I really enjoy it! I thought it would be super fun to join in her blog party! (I've never actually been in a blog party before!) So yea. Anyway, on to the questions...

1} What's the nerdiest/geekiest/weirdest thing about you?

Well, I'm not sure...I have a thing for music and I tend to get rather excited when I order a new CD and/or when I listen to it. Haha.

2} If you could live in a fictional universe from any book, movie, or television show, what would it be?  Oh, It would be either Middle Earth (LOVE) or Walnut Grove. Considering the fact that Walnut Grove was destroyed, I guess my answer would have to be Middle Earth. But I still am and always will be in love with Walnut Grove. (from the 70's TV show Little House on the Prairie)

3} Little or big, practical or frivolous, what is one of your favorite items in your house?  Just one of my favorite items would be my Dad's espresso machine. ;)

4} Do you like animated movies? If so, what is your favorite? Oh yes, I love animated movies! I love anything from Pixar and all the Toy Story movies! :) And Tangled is SO CUTE!

5} What is your favorite household chore?  Hmmm....I suppose folding laundry. Well, no. I think I like cleaning the best. When no-one is there. Does cooking count as a household "chore"? Because I love to cook! ;)

6} What's your favorite thing to get at Starbucks (or your favorite coffee shop)?  Oh wow. Ha I'll take anything from Starbucks! But I love the Peppermint mochas!!!!!!!! And white mochas ;)

7} What is your favorite pizza topping? As long as there is sauce and cheese on it, I don't really care. Anything goes. Wierd, huh? 

8} Waffles or pancakes? Waffles! I love waffles.

9} Do you like to play games? If so, what is your favorite?  Yea games are fun! My family and I like to play Chinese Checkers. So much fun!

10} Have you ever let anyone win a game? Ha! No, because I'm hardly ever a winner anyway ;)

11} Have you ever dyed your hair?  No, but I think it would be fun to get highlights sometime.

12} Do you make your bed every morning?  It totally depends on my mood.

13} Picasso or Norman Rockwell?  Norman Rockwell. I have always enjoyed his paintings, although I'm not exactly sure why.  This is my favorite painting of his. So sweet!

14} Do you like carpet, tile, or hardwood floors?  Hardwood all the way. Goodness, I hate carpet. lol

15} If you could put one thing in a safe under your bed, what would it be? My journals and/or my little things that hold a lot of memories for me. =P

16} What's your favorite condiment? Oh I don't know...mustard? 

17} Have you ever thrown up on someone (excluding when you were a child)? Ok, I really don't think so. If I did though, I thankfully don't recall it!

18} What was the last thing that made you laugh? A cheesy movie that I only watched because I love the star. 

19} Think fast...what's the first song that pops into your head? Going Home by Mary Fahl. SUCH a beautiful song!

Today is the first day of November which is very exciting because that means...

                                              
                                                   Winter is coming! Ahhh, I love snow!

                            Snowy mountains! (Except that there are no mountains in where I live but still...)

                                  Peppermint mochas at Starbucks!!! :D They are TO DIE FOR.

NaNoWriMo starts today. One month of insanity. One month of craziness. One month of a frantic struggle to write 50,000 words in just 30 days. ;) Well, I'm not joining in that. My older sister and younger brother are.

I am obviously excited about winter. Very excited. Oh how I hope it snows this year. What about Winter are you most excited about this year?

P.S. To all my Blogger friends, I am mostly joking about NaNoWriMo being insane. :) It just gets a little crazy around here but it is always fun. I know a lot of you are writing novels this year and I wish you luck. You can do it! :D

11. Favorite clothing? I love cute tops and sundresses. And formal gowns. I love clothes!

12. Anywhere in the world on vacation? AHH! New Zealand!! It is the closest I can get to Middle Earth.

13. Are you an organized person? Hmm, it really depends. I think for the most part, yes.

14. Where would you retire to? Ha! Like I have that planned out!

Of Emma and ipods

I know, I know. I haven't blogged like I promised I would but thats because I have been brainstorming. About how to earn $200. You see, I fell in love. Oh yes. I'm in love with Apple's ipod touch. I just signed up with itunes so that I could download Jared Kraft's new album The Fused  (which is super AWESOME!) and I was browsing the Apple store and I saw it. It just looks so stinkin cool, doesn't it??

I'm anything but tech savvy so it is kind of strange that I want an ipod touch so bad but I do. And anyway, my mp3 player is dying, poor thing. So hopefully in the near future I will be able to purchase this epic item.

The other fun thing this week was the arrival of the movie Emma (BBC 2009) in the mail. I had seen it twice already but it was still so amazing the third time I watched it. Actually, everybody (dad included) stayed up until midnight watching the whole thing. (shh, don't tell anybody.)

        

*sigh* I love Jonny Lee Miller. He is just perfect for Mr. Knightly. Perfect.

And Ramolia Gari is Emma. I just love her in everything I have seen her in.

My crazy week part 1

Dearest followers, I'M BACK! I've been very lousy about blogging for the longest time but that is over now! *cheers*  I have an insane amount of pictures from the past week to share with you all. All in all I went to the Dixie Classic Fair 7 times. It was crazy. Crazy fun though.

                     One of the barns in 'Yesterday Village' (Yesterday Village is a section in the fair that is just a bunch of old buildings with displays and such inside.)  The only bad thing is that they actually have electricity   in these old buildings. It kind of ruins the coolness of it. Oh well.

Mom and Micaiah

The third day I went to the fair (the first day we walked around instead of helping out) Dad was working so Mom came with us. Dad called sometime in the afternoon and Jo kept saying "I wanna talk to daddy! Let me talk!" so Mom handed him the phone and Jo talked. And he talked. And he talked. But it was good because we got to snap a lot of photos.

This is Micaiah saying he wants to go on the silver ride behind him. It is kind of like a ferris wheel only you are upside down. He ended up not going on it because it started to rain.

 I love this photo that Hannah took. It kind of reminds me of the poster for the new movie Courageous. I have heard a lot of good things about that movie. Have you seen it? What do you think of it?

 Last year at the fair I LOVED this ride. LOVED it. I rode it like 6 times. This year? I rode it once and I did not enjoy it at all. I tried to! But I was feeling sick and very unsafe the whole time. I have no idea what my problem was.

                                                     The kid bus was fun. I liked that ride. ;)

 Those are all the photos for now. I promise that later I will do a post of our last day at the fair and also the Kutless/Anthem Lights concert we went to (oh yea!) and also pictures of the things I entered.
